Together with Nord University, Nordland Research Institute part of an international university alliance linked by its proximity to the coast.
The alliance is called SEA-EU and will strengthen the coastal research and education field.
– We have been invited as an associated partner to Nord University, together with several players related to the marine and maritime sector in the region, says Iselin Marstrander, CEO of Nordland Research Institute .
– Lifting our regional networks to Europe is incredibly exciting and offers new relationships and opportunities.
Same field of interest
SEA-EU is a major player. Together, the partners in the alliance have more than 150,000 students and 18,000 employees who will benefit from the goals set by the alliance, Khrono writes on its website.
SEA-EU also has a website, where the vision is written: The alliance aims to provide excellent education and research, to build an inclusive, sustainable and adaptive future for both humanity and the planet, with a particular focus on the ocean that unites the alliance partners.
Such a vision can Nordland Research Institute join.
– We have a lot of expertise and research collaboration in areas related to the ocean and coast, and have a particular focus on the high north and the Arctic. We have projects at both regional, national and international levels, says Marstrander.
– We will be able to contribute well professionally to this alliance, while gaining access to research environments, companies, public actors and non-profit organizations that operate in the same field of interest.
Exploit opportunities
The alliance has secured four-year funding that will take the initiative from project outline to realization. Marstrander and Nordland Research Institute is ready to roll up his sleeves.
– We look forward to meeting partners and seeing how we can concretely exploit these opportunities together with Nord University, she says.
