All interested parties were invited to provide input to the new project on living conditions among queer people. Project manager Helga Eggebø is very pleased with the response.
The project "Living conditions among queer people" has just started. The researchers will try to find out whether the situation has improved or worsened since 2013 and 2020, when the previous surveys were conducted.
But what is important to find out in order to draw the best possible picture of the living conditions of queer people now? Eggebø wanted input from everyone who is interested in the field and she therefore invited them to a feedback meeting on Teams.
The response was good, about 20 people showed up.
– I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who came and provided valuable input, says Eggebø.
– We in the research group are very grateful that they took the time to help us.
The researchers received a lot of input and will now begin reviewing it.
– One of the things that emerged is that people are less and less willing to answer surveys. Therefore, it is important that the new survey is not as long as in 2020, says Eggebø.
Other contributions emphasized the importance of asking whether people experience developments in a positive or negative direction, and whether the public heated debate and global situation are negatively affecting living conditions.
– At the same time, it is important that the new study also examines positive aspects of living conditions among queer people, says Eggebø.
