Assists companies in Nordland with research knowledge
Nordland Research Institute will help companies in Nordland find research funding and research partners to develop new solutions, products or services. The scheme is called competence brokerage.

Here, experienced Researchers their knowledge about which research institution or which instruments are best suited for your company to find the path to success.
The goal is to mobilize more companies in Nordland to use research in their innovation work. NFK has put together a team of competence brokers with expertise in a number of different industries. At Nordland Research Institute senior researchers Anna G. Sveinsdóttir and Bjørn Vidar Vangelsten are ready to assist. Sveinsdóttir is an expert in tourism, while Vangelsten has expertise in food and agriculture.
– Competence brokers should help companies with research needs, financing opportunities and partnerships at no cost to the company, says Sveinsdóttir.
– An example might be a tourism company that has research needs regarding digitalization or product development. In that case, I can help identify the most relevant support schemes or which research environments have experience in the area and can be good partners.
Vangelsten emphasizes that the competence brokers can assist with both large and small questions.
– Whether relatively simple knowledge or more complex research is needed doesn't matter. We find out where the idea lies and which instruments are most suitable, he says.
The competence broker scheme is part of the county council's initiative FORREGION (Research-based innovation in the region), which promotes research in the innovation work of Northern Norwegian businesses.
