On September 1st, Grete Hovelsrud takes office as the new president for IASSA (International Arctic Social Sciences Association), becoming the first norwegian president of the assosciation. 

Hovelsrud is ready for the exciting challenge. 

– This will be a glorious collaboration between Nordland Research Institute and Nord University. We are going to take charge in shaping the arctic social sciences, says Hovelsrud.  

– We are going to work on topics close to the hearts of indigenous people and focus on co-creation. We are going to increase participation from the humanities and the arts, and really put Bodø and Norway on the map as a hub for social sciences in the arctic.
