Helena Gonzales Lindberg (Ph.D) has an interdisciplinary background in geography, political science and environmental science. Her interests include visual politics, particularly the use of maps and illustrations, natural resource allocation and representations of 'nature', sustainability issues and feminist research methods.
Doctorate in Political Science, Lund University, 2019
The dissertation The Constitutive Power of Maps in the Arctic is about how maps moderate political meaning-making and set the framework for which political alternatives are expressed or silenced. The analysis sheds light on how maps constrain and enable different understandings of politics and the future in the Arctic.
Graduate diploma in small state studies and the EU, University of Iceland, 2011
Master's degree in Environment and Sustainability, Lund University, 2011
Bachelor's degree in Human Geography, University of Oslo, 2009
Helena worked as a coordinator at the Centrum för miljö- och klimavetenskap (CEC) and the Sustainability Forum at Lund University before she started as a senior researcher at Nordland Research Institute in August 2022.
