The purpose of the project is to uncover the potential for film tourism in Northern Norway and Svalbard.

The project will uncover the tourism industry's experience with and capacity to develop Northern Norway as an attractive film destination for film tourism. In capacity, we include both knowledge, experience, ambitions and interest, as well as additional competence needs to host large film and TV productions at the destination level. Furthermore, existing infrastructure (accommodation, dining, transport and logistics, area, etc.) and the interest in developing their own experience products based on film productions are part of the capacity.

The project will also uncover the potential for the establishment of a network of actors/destinations that wish to increase their own value creation by developing Northern Norway as a film destination/film tourism in Northern Norway.

Furthermore, the project has as a sub-goal to assess the potential for, and develop issues for, a main project with the goal of developing a model for sustainability.
