The professional helper – a presentation of a reflection model developed in Norway

In this chapter we present the core role model, intended for reflection in professional work. The model consists of two dimensions, which in turn describe four types of helper roles (partner, directive, bridge-builder, and driver). We invite the reader to discuss how these four helper roles may be used in a flexible way in working with children with disabilities. In addition, we discuss whether and how the core role model may be implemented in an African setting.
