I de sosiale ytterkantene. Konstruksjoner av kjønn og maskuliniteter hos norske menn i ufrivillig sølibat

This article looks at Norwegian men who identify with living in involuntary celibacy. It is a qualitative study basedon interviews with seven Norwegian men and provides new knowledge about a phenomenon that has been scarcelyresearched in Norway. Overall, the article examines connections between the participants’ negotiations about genderand masculinity, and their relationships to online anti-feminist forums. The analysis draws on masculinity theory andthe concept ofhybrid masculinityto examine the distancing from and negotiation with different masculinities. Thearticle argues that online anti-feminist forums are of little interest or relevance to the participants.
